Wait, so theses 26 new episodes are going to retell InuYasha from beginning to end? That seems silly. I think they'd need at least 52 for that. I was under the impression that this new arc was just the final one, the last set of episodes to wrap up the whole story.

this 26 episodes will be the End of the serie. Its called ''the final act''
the numer 167 was the last ep of that season. now we will see the end just en 26. This 26 will be the continuation of the last season alike the FMA serie wich is a ''remake''
